A Family Affair

Basic Ingredients Bakery began in 1988 when Garlyn Manganiello and her husband, Paul, vacationed at their Newfound Lake home with their 5 children. Once here, Manganiello recognized the lack of baked goods within the community and therefore recruited her long-time friend, Cheryl Keith, and they began baking! Initially business was sought by close friends and family, but word soon spread about Basic Ingredients and its clientele immediately expanded. People now travel from all across New England to experience the home-baked goodness that Basic Ingredients is famous for. However, Basic Ingredients is not only known for its baked goods but also its gift items. In 2003, Manganiello decided to expand the bakery and offer high quality Newfound Lake souvenirs. These items are located within the shop and can be purchased throughout the season. Manganiello has also recently introduced BIstro-to-Go; a catering and take-out menu that offers a variety of home-cooked meals and sandwiches that are both healthy and delicious. Basic Ingredients is actively involved within the Newfound community by supporting local organizations including: Bristol Community Services, the TTCC, the Circle Program, the NRHS Ski Teams and Friends of the Arts. Basic Ingredients would like to thank you for your continued support and we look forward to serving the Newfound community for many years to come.
